This course is designed to provide professional study opportunities for educators interested in learning about the impact of poverty on school and life success. Modules of study address barriers to learning that many students face, as well as the associated strategies for removing those barriers to learning. The entire course of study is grounded by the science of learning or cognitive neuroscience and participants will be challenged to explore a series of best practices through the lens of cognitive neuroscience.
Video content is available on-demand, as defined by course parameters. Video content MUST BE VIEWED before submitting any representations of learning. Participants will select from a menu of approved options for representing their learning, including content-specific quizzes, sketch notes assignments, and action research.
Certificates of completion will be awarded at the conclusion of the project and credits earned will be based upon the number of assignments successfully completed.
