School accountability is largely centered upon student achievement as measured by standards-based assessments. Educators who methodically unpack standards in an effort to understand the intended cognitive level (Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy) and the level of rigor (Webb’s Depth of Knowledge) are more likely to strategically plan in-class instruction and assessments that are squarely focused on the same outcomes measured in high-stakes standardized assessments.
